Village Honours War Dead

More than fifty people assembled at the village war memorial yesterday morning (11th November) for the annual Remembrance Day commemoration.

The service was taken by the Rev David Haylett.  Wreaths were laid on behalf of the Parish Council, Long Wittenham Athletic Club, the WI and the Brownies.

Children from the Primary School read biographies of some of the Long Wittenham fallen and laid crosses for all those listed on the memorial.

Lovely to see the children from the school and so well behaved . Such a pity that the traffic going passed prevented us hearing all they read out but well done.
