Oxfordshire County Council is again offering its annual free electric blanket testing for residents during September and October.
The electric blanket tests are normally very popular, with places limited, so they must be booked in advance to be guaranteed.
Appointments can be booked by visiting electric blanket testing, calling 01865 895999 or emailing duty.officer@oxfordshire.gov.uk.

Monday 16th September – Oxford City
Tuesday 17th September – South Oxfordshire
Wednesday 18th September – Cherwell
Thursday 19th September – West Oxfordshire
Friday 20th September – Vale of White Horse
Monday 30th September – Oxford City
Tuesday 1st October – South Oxfordshire
Wednesday 2nd October – Cherwell
Thursday 3rd October – West Oxfordshire
Friday 4th October – Vale of White Horse
The service has been provided free of charge to residents for 25 years, and remains as valuable as ever: in 2023, of the 769 blankets tested, over 35% failed the safety test.
