The Parish Council has been advised by South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) of a new planning application within the village.

The application, at Mouldens, High Street, Long Wittenham, is to use the existing garage-style outbuilding as ancillary residential accommodation.

Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebration Sunday 5th June

Plans are afoot for a big village celebration to mark the Queen’s seventy years of service –  the first British monarch to reach this incredible milestone.

To mark the occasion, the UK has been granted an additional Bank Holiday, with the late May bank holiday being moved to Thursday 2nd June 2022 and the new, additional bank holiday on Friday 3rd June.

Police and Crime Commissioner Victims Survey

Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) for Thames Valley, Matthew Barber, has launched a survey inviting views on the support needs of victims to help inform possible options for the future commissioning of services.

Village Speed Limit Boundaries

At the Parish Council meeting on 10th February, the council discussed and agreed that it would apply to Oxfordshire County Council to extend the boundaries of the village speed limits.

The council believes that if the speed limits outside the boundaries of the 20mph zone are reduced, vehicles will be more likely to observe the 20mph limit when it is encountered.  It will also make the installation of certain physical traffic calming Continue reading

Community Hub Consultation Meetings

At the recent meeting to discuss the latest plans for the Community Hub, it was announced that further meetings would be held to discuss some specific topics related to this.  These meetings are part of the Parish Council’s  and Thomas Homes’ ongoing commitment to consult with residents at every stage of the Neighbourhood Plan and Planning Application process.
