On Saturday 19 May, the Village Hall Action Group launched a consultation on proposals
…to create a sustainable community hub in Long Wittenham that incorporates a village hall, primary school and other facilities that will benefit our village today and in the future.
Architectural practice :/00 (zer’o zer’o) have been commissioned to explore the feasibility of the project. The feasibility study was funded by the Parish Council, Long Wittenham Primary School, the Village Hall Committee and Long Wittenham Pre-School. :/00 were asked to:-
- Analyse and assess five sites proposed by the Village Hall Action Group as possible locations for this new facility and recommend a preferred option
- Consider options for the sale and development of housing on the existing Village Hall and Primary School sites, intended to provide the core funding for the new school and community hub
- Produce preliminary concept designs for the preferred site and for the existing sites that we can consult on
- Provide outline costs for our vision, based on current market values and estimated build costs
The results of the feasibility study can be downloaded here.
