Overgrown Hedges and Blocked Footways

The Parish Council has recently received several complaints that some hedges in the village have been allowed to grow over the footways reducing the width to walk along.

This makes it very difficult for residents with small children and pushchairs, anyone in a wheelchair, or in bad cases where the hedge is very overgrown, for anyone walking along the paths to get by safely.  In some cases, brambles are growing in the hedges which means clothes etc can be snagged, causing damage.

The Council will be contacting residents where we think the hedge needs attention.  If you need help with cutting your hedge, the Council can put you in touch with suitable assistance.  Thank you for your assistance.

(It is an offence under Section 154 of the Highways Act 1980 to cause an obstruction in this way.)
