Early in 2020, plans for new offices in Crowmarsh were unveiled, but with the onset of Continue reading

Planning Application Refused

Plans for one hundred and seventy-six new homes on a site to the east of the B4016 Lady Grove have been rejected by South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC).  It’s a decision welcomed by Long Wittenham Parish Council who objected to the plans.

The Parish Council objected on the grounds that the development was not needed because of the neighbouring expansion of Ladygrove with eighteen hundred new homes, schools, shops and other facilities over the next ten years.  The council was Continue reading

what3words Location App

The Parish Council has been asked to promote the use of the what3words App.

what3words is the simplest way to talk about location.  Street addresses were not designed for 2020.  They are not accurate enough to specify precise locations, such as building entrances, and do not exist for parks and many rural areas.  This makes it hard to find places and prevents people from describing exactly where help is needed in an emergency.
