Revd David Haylett has announced that, from Sunday 28th June, St Mary’s Church will be open for private prayer on Sundays and Thursdays from 10am until 4pm, under strict conditions to prevent any spread of Covid-19 virus.
Those entering the church are requested to observe social distancing measures and use the hand sanitizer provided.
St Peter’s in Little Wittenham will be open on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am until 4pm.

South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) has asked the Parish Council to inform residents that waste collections are starting an hour earlier this week due to the very hot weather.
This is so that the waste crews can avoid being out when the weather gets too hot. Residents are requested to put their bins out before 6am. As usual, you can put them out the night before if that is more convenient.
Going Forward Buses, which operates services between Long Wittenham and Didcot, hopes to start running a limited service on all routes but using only one bus from Monday 6th July.
There is an emergency timetable which will probably apply until September when the situation will be reviewed.

There has been a warm welcome to the news that £218m of funding has finally been agreed for infrastructure projects in the Didcot Garden Town area. The government awarded the Housing Infrastructure Funding to support the significant growth in housing in the area.

The village hall has a new management committee. At the Annual General Meeting last evening (18th June), using a video conferencing facility, Nick Caw was elected chairman, and Sue Tucker treasurer. Age UK Oxfordshire is warning of scammers who continue to try to take advantage of vulnerable people during the Coronavirus outbreak.
The latest scam tries to convince people that they have been in contact with someone who has been tested positive, pretending to be Track and Trace.
