have been reports that garden shed thieves are operating in the village. An attempted robbery was recently caught on camera at a property in the High Street and we are pleased to report that the police have identified the culprit from the CCTV provided by the householder.
Residents are advised to be vigilant, keep sheds, outhouses and cars locked, and report any break-ins to the police.

The recently appointed vicar for the Bridge Group of parishes within the Dorchester Team, Mark Howarth, has decided not to take up the post.
Revd Canon Howarth cited “personal reasons” for his decision. He was due to have been licensed at a ceremony in Dorchester Abbey in March by the Bishop of Dorchester the Rt Revd Colin Fletcher, but the service had to be postponed because of the Coronavirus emergency.

The Coronavirus crisis has disrupted plans by the Earth Trust to create new wetlands and wildlife habitats at locations near the Thames.
The Trust says that it is committed to the project but in light of the current situation the project partners have decided to postpone further work until the early Summer of next year.

Household Waste and Recycling Centres in Oxfordshire will reopen on Monday (18th May) for essential visits, from 8am to 4pm. They will be open seven days a week, as long as they are not overwhelmed and can operate safely.

The Parish Council has been advised by the Traffic Regulations Team at Oxfordshire County Council (OCC) that it will be necessary to close the road at the corner of Didcot Road and Sires Hill in order to facilitate resurfacing carriageway and signage improving works.
