Connecting Oxford Proposals

Oxfordshire County Council and Oxford City Council have announced plans to tackle congestion on all major routes into Oxford and improve public transport connections into and across some parts of the city, particularly the city’s eastern arc (the area outside the city centre that links parts of north Oxford, Marston, Headington and Cowley).

Run the Clumps – Orienteering

Next Sunday (29th September) is National Get Outside Day, organised by the Ordnance Survey, and what better way could there be to join in with the spirit of the day than to go orienteering on Wittenham Clumps.

Footsteps Road Safety Programme

The Parish Council has been asked by the Oxfordshire County Council Road Safety Team to encourage parents and carers in the village to use the Footsteps programme.

The programme shows parents and carers how to support their children in learning how to make safer decisions when they are crossing roads.  With support from parents and carers, children will gain the skills needed to become safer, independent pedestrians and so help to reduce casualty numbers on our roads. Bonfire Night Volunteers Wanted

It’s only a little over a month to the Village Bonfire Night (Saturday 2nd November, 6pm on Ward’s Field) and the organisers are in need of volunteers to help with the event.

No previous experience is necessary, but a smile, sense of humour and can-do attitude is required!  Volunteers are needed to collect wood, build the bonfire, set up stalls, work on the stalls, manage car parking, be traffic/pedestrian marshalls, clear the site and return borrowed goods, and manage the PA system. County Councillor Steps Down

Neighbourhood Plan Update

New Parish Clerk

The Parish Council has a new clerk.  He is Martin Elliff who takes over from Rhonda Hinson who was clerk for more than four years.

Martin was the council’s vice-chairman and his decision to resign as councillor and take on the new role as clerk on a voluntary basis for twelve months means that the council is now down to five councillors – two short of its statutory number.
