Good Neighbours Group
The Long Wittenham Good Neighbours Group is entirely funded by the Parish Council and so there is no charge for coming along. This year, the group has been given even more financial support with a cash grant from the village’s County Councillor Lynda Atkins.
Lynda, who is also Oxfordshire County Chairman of the Royal British Legion, has volunteered to give a short presentation at this month’s meeting. Continue reading
School Governor Vacancies
Long Wittenham School is looking for two new Governors: a Local Authority and a Foundation Governor.
The strategic role of all governors is to:
- Ensure clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;
- Hold the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils, and the performance management of staff;
- Oversee the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.

Waste Collections
The Parish Council has been advised that because of the snow last Friday (1st February), South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) cancelled waste collections on that day for the safety of other road users, pedestrians and the waste crews.
The process of catching up began yesterday (4th February) but this will have a knock-on effect on waste collections for the rest of the week. Continue reading

May 2019 Local Elections
District and parish council elections will take place on 2nd May.
