Children Urged to Use Acklings

Parents are being urged to encourage their children to use Acklings Playground for ball games.

The plea is from residents living in Saxons Heath who are concerned about children playing in the road, causing a nuisance and putting themselves and the drivers of cars and vans at risk of injury.

Acklings Playground was given a makeover in 2011 by the Parish Council and has recently been granted Asset of Community Value (ACV) status by South Oxfordshire District Council which helps to secure the area for community use for the future.  The Parish Council is keen to encourage more use of the playground so that children may play safely.

For those into more organised games, a reminder that football nets and cricket equipment are also available for use at the playground – see the Village Equipment Register for details.
