Coronation Cream Tea

On Bank Holiday Monday 8th May from 2pm to 5pm The Plough Inn will be hosting an afternoon of singing, crafts, games, cakes and fun to raise money for village community groups and to celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III.  Bring a picnic blanket and come and enjoy the fun.

Watch Out, Thieves About!

There has been a report of recent criminal activity in the village.

Two locked bikes were stolen from a garden in St John’s Row on Saturday night.  The police have been informed.

Residents are advised to be vigilant, keep sheds, outhouses and cars locked, and report any suspicious activity to the police. Continue reading

Planning Application

The Parish Council has been advised by South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) of a new planning application within the village.

The application, at The Grange, High Street, Long Wittenham, is for the installation of photo voltaic panels in discreet locations in the roof valleys.

Health Services Survey

Our Member of Parliament, David Johnston, has launched a Health Services Survey, the aim of which is to get a constituency-wide picture of which health services local people think we need more of, such as GP surgeries, to keep pace with the growing population.

Clifton Hampden Stores Temporary Closures

The proprietor of the Clifton Hampden Stores and Post Office has asked us to inform residents that it will be closed on various dates in April.

The closures are to facilitate filming by a TV company and for work to take place to replace the roof.
