Village Pubs Reopen

The village pubs, which have been closed since December, reopened for outdoor customers on Monday 12th April.  Indoor openings will have to wait until 17th May.

At The Plough Inn customers can order drinks and food outdoors in the garden.  Food is served at between 12noon and 3pm and 6pm and 9pm, and on Sundays between 12noon and 3pm.  The Plough has heaters under its pergola on the patio area.

A new feature at the Vine and Spice is the introduction of eleven wooden pods in the garden.  The pods seat between four and six people and are illuminated for evening meals.

The Chef and Brewer Barley Mow pub-restaurant at Clifton Hampden – part of the large regional brewing chain Greene King – is  serving meals and drinks all day in its spruced-up garden.

The Real Ale campaign group Camra says it was a “magnificent effort” to see so many pubs around the country reopening their doors and it is a tribute to their staying powers during an extremely difficult financial period.
