What a night – Bonfire Night 2025!

The Village Bonfire Night team, Caz, Reece, Emily, Tom, Anna and Mark, write ….

This was our first year taking the reins for the village fireworks event, and if there’s one thing we’ve taken away from it, it’s how much fun we had putting it all together!

We were absolutely blown away by the support from the whole village.  A huge thank you to all the volunteers who helped us in the lead-up and turned out over the weekend to set up and clear away. You were incredible.

Special shoutouts go to:

  • The Wood Collectors and Bonfire Builders
  • BBQ, Bar, and Sweet Treat Providers
  • First Aiders and Marshals
  • Our Support Crew who kept us fuelled throughout setup and takedown

Your efforts made the event the success it was — we couldn’t have done it without you!

We’re also deeply grateful to the PCC for the loan of Ward’s Field, and to the Parish Council for underwriting and insuring the event for the past nine seasons.

To everyone who came along — thank you!  We hope you enjoyed the show as much as we did.  Special thanks to those who donated time, electricity, and equipment, including PMS, Earth Trust, Pendon Museum, and M&M Skip, who generously provided a skip for the clear-up free of charge.  And of course, to Storm Fireworks who put on an amazing display!

We’re still finalising the profits from the night, but it’s fantastic to know that events like this help raise vital funds for village groups like the Primary School, Pre-school, Rainbows and Brownies.

Thanks again for all your support — we can’t wait to see you next year!  In the meantime, if you have any feedback, we’d love to hear from you at lw.fireworks.2025@gmail.com.

As a local resident passed the age of attending it is great to see so many people in the village giving their time to make a wonderful magical evening for the children and adults. Congratulations to all. You achieved what many town councils cancelled what does that say?
