Anti Quarry Photo Competition

Bachport – the group opposed to plans for a huge quarry at Clifton Hampden – is launching a photography competition. Called #sorrybutNOquarry the competition is open to everyone and will give the public the opportunity to express artistically how they feel about the prospect of a gravel pit and concrete plant being built on the Oxfordshire Green Belt, overlooking the river Thames and the Thames path.

Bachport is inviting people to take a photo they feel describes or evokes the idea. Digital manipulation will be allowed. There are two sections: Adult and Junior, and under 16. All entries to be sent as a JPG/Jpeg, landscape format, using the highest resolution possible, minimum 1 MB (10 MB would be ideal) to bachport@btinternet.com

Judging the competition will be the editor of The Bridge magazine Clare Owen, the owner of Fabulous Flowers in Abingdon Gary Cooper and filmmaker Giles Harvey of Luttrell Productions who lives in Little Wittenham. Closing date for entries is 30th November 2016.

The Barley Mow has donated a dinner for two including all food and drink for the winner of the adult section while the winner of the junior section will win a wakeboarding lesson at the Oxford Wakeboard & Ski Club in Berinsfield. All runners-up will receive a Bachport #sorrybutNOquarry T-shirt. More details from http://Bachport.uk.
