The newly refurbished bells at St Mary’s will be having a full work out on Saturday 10th June between 10am and 12:30pm when the regional Striking Competition will take place.
Teams of ringers will choose a ‘method’ – a tune – and will be judged on the way the method is rung – smooth , no hesitation and no mistakes!
Six to seven teams are expected to ring at this event. For lovers of bell ringing it should be a wonderful tuneful morning.
Bell ringers for both Long and Little Wittenham churches are needed, so if you would like to go along to St Mary’s on Monday evenings between 7:30 and 9pm, you can see what’s going on.
