Cheers to Apple Day!

The fourth annual Village Apple Day proved a huge success and saw 768kg of apples weighed, checked, chopped, mashed, milled, bottled, pasteurised and labelled.  Altogether nearly 400 bottles of juice were produced.

The event, organised by the Wittenham Warriors, was held at the Sylva Wood Centre last Sunday.  Chief organiser Sally Duff said: “It was a resounding success and our thanks go to everyone who turned out.  The juice this year is delicious, pure juice, no added sugar, with a shelf life of well over six months.”

Profits from the event will go towards a donation to the Sylva Wood Centre who hosted the event and into purchasing and maintaining equipment needed for Apple Days in the future.

Bottles of juice can be purchased for £2 a bottle with free delivery – contact Sally Duff at richsal2000@yahoo.co.uk.
