As part of the Team Rector’s strategy to cautiously re-start regular services in our churches there will be Service of Holy Communion at St Mary’s on Sunday, 16th August at 9am.

At the last service in July the Diocese was “advising” that face masks be worn, but now the Government has made this mandatory, although bizarrely the Celebrant does not have to except “when dispensing consumables”, and neither do readers of lessons.  The social distancing measures adopted last time seem to have worked well so they will also apply this time.

There is a Track and Trace system in force so if you plan to attend please let Revd David Haylett (see contact details below) know in advance as a record of attendees has to be kept with contact details for 21 days, when the information is deleted.  (If anyone comes at the last minute it is likely you will be accommodated without advance warning so do not be put off by that.)

The service will be spoken as singing is still banned.
