Follow the Countryside Code

Following a recent incident in which a ewe in the field next to Fieldside was attacked and badly injured by a dog, owners are reminded that the Countryside Code requires that dogs are kept under effective control and not allowed to stray off public rights of way, and that it is always good practice (and a legal requirement on ‘open access’ land) to keep dogs on a lead around farm animals and horses, for your own safety and for the welfare of the animals.

As good neighbours, let’s all follow the Countryside Code and help protect the animals in the village.
