Pump Track – Volunteers Needed

Emma Newman of the Pump Track Project Team writes …

As you have probably heard and perhaps even seen, the Pump Track is truly getting off the ground.  We have the funds we need and material has already been delivered to site, in readiness for our ‘Build Weekends’ on Saturday 19th, Sunday 20th and Saturday 26th, Sunday 27th June.

We are, however, in need of more volunteers and I am hoping, if you haven’t already signed up (thank you so much if you have), you would consider coming along for a shift over one or more of these days?

It is set to be another wonderful village community event – there will be plenty of laughter and fun guaranteed and we will even feed you.

There are plenty of roles from digging and shovelling soil and gravel, to serving refreshments to the crew, providing on call first aid support, or being the shift safety officer.  There is a job for anybody who would like to be involved.

Shifts are only 3 hours long (8am-11am; 11am-2pm; 2pm-5pm) and you can sign up* for as many or as few as you like by either mailing me at emmanewman@me.com or Catherine Harrison at crmharrison@me.com, or by signing up to a shift directly using the following link:

*We regret that no children under the age of 16 are to be allowed on site without prior agreement due to the use of digging machinery.

Many thanks in advance for your support.

P.S. We also need some bakers who could provide some cakes or flapjacks or traybakes.  If you can help, please email emmanewman@me.com or crmharrison@me.com.

P.P.S. Please feel free to pass this on to anybody else that you think might like to get involved, including anyone who has moved to the village recently.  It will be a great way for people to get to know one another (nothing like bonding over a bit of mud!).
