Thanks to a bumper harvest of apples, Village Apple Day last Saturday was a great success, producing a huge number of bottles of delicious juice.
It was a wonderful if somewhat windy day, and lots of villagers turned up with boxes and buckets of apples and a first class team of volunteers weighed, checked, chopped, pressed and bottled. The juice was pasteurised to give it a shelf life of at least one year.
If you would like to taste this delicious, sweet, totally natural local juice it is available at £3 per bottle. All profits will go back into the Apple Day fund to purchase more equipment in readiness for when the community orchard begins to produce fruit, in approximately three years time. Contact Sally Duff on 07899 097612 or richsal2000@yahoo.co.uk.
The juice will also be available at the up and coming Christmas Art Weekend being held at Sylva Wood Centre on 18th & 19th November.
