Residents will be disappointed, but probably not surprised to hear that the village’s very popular annual bonfire night has been postponed, owing to the Covid-19 crisis.
Jenny Caw, who heads up the team that organises the event, said “We delayed the decision to postpone as long as we could, but the current guidelines for outdoor events would make it impossible to run it as we would wish, and it is unlikely that conditions will have changed by November.”
“The good news is that the company that supplies the fireworks has agreed to carry over our deposit to next year, so we are hopeful that the event will be back, bigger and even better than previous years, on Saturday 6th November 2021”.
