Despite high winds and rain at the 11th annual Village Bonfire Night, which led to fewer ticket sales than in previous years, the event raised a good profit of £840, which will be distributed as usual to village groups and charities.
At the November meeting of the Parish Council the following donations were agreed: £240 to the Primary School Parent Teachers Association to help towards repairs of the school’s Monkey Bars; £200 to the Brownies and £100 each to Pendon Museum, Earth Trust, the Parochial Church Council and Sobell House hospice in Oxford.
Parish Council Chairman Gordon Rogers thanked Jenny Caw and her team of helpers for a very successful event. Jenny said that she will be happy to run it again next year on 7th November 2020.
