The village stepped out in force last evening for Clap For Carers, paying tribute to NHS staff and volunteers who are helping to provide essential services during the Coronavirus emergency.
People emerged from their homes and into the streets to applaud the efforts of NHS workers and volunteers for at least two minutes. Others opened their windows and clapped.
Parish councillor Sally Duff who is co-ordinating the relief operation in the village said it was heart-warming to see so many people in the village paying tribute in this way. She said: “Thanks to everyone for saluting the work of NHS staff during this difficult period but also, the wonderful village community that we are lucky to have here supporting those people in need.”
