The Conservative Party candidate, David Johnston, is the new MP for Long Wittenham. In yesterday’s General Election, he held the Wantage constituency with 34,085 votes and a 50.7% share of the vote.
Liberal Democrat Richard Benwell came second with 21,432 votes and 31.9%. The Labour candidate Jonny Roberts polled 10,181 (15.2%) and the Independent, Mark Gray, 1,475 (2.2%).
The seat was previously held by Ed Vaisey from 2005.
