Emergency Plan Zone Co-ordinators

The Parish Council (PC) has been working on a plan for what needs to be done if there is an emergency in the village.

There are a variety of incidents that could cause the plan to be triggered, such as flooding, a long power outage, or a major traffic incident.  You can view a copy of the Working Draft of the Emergency Plan here.

In order to finalise the Emergency Plan the PC is looking for volunteers to take on the role of Zone Co-ordinator.  Zone Co-ordinators will play a pivotal role if the plan is triggered as it is they who will be contacted in the first instance for information about who in their Zone needs priority assistance.  Details about who would be considered as vulnerable can be found in the Draft Emergency Plan.

Currently, the village has been divided into five Zones:

Zone 1 – Westfield Road
Zone 2 – Saxons Heath and all of Didcot Road up to, but EXCLUDING The Crescent
Zone 3 – The Crescent, Concrete Fieldside, Greenways and High Street up to and including The Cross
Zone 4 – Wessex Way
Zone 5 – Fieldside (excluding Concrete Fieldside) High Street from The Cross to Lower Farm, including Northfield Lane and Little Wittenham Road

As Zones 3 and 5 are large areas to cover, they may be split into smaller areas if sufficient numbers of people come forward to help.

If you would be prepared to help, please contact the Parish Clerk at longwittpc@hotmail.co.uk.

Hi, I am a little unclear, what zone would Poplar Park be included in?
    Thanks

Good question. That comes under Zone 3. If we get a volunteer from Poplar Park we would be looking at making that a separate Zone.
