Emergency Alerts System Test

Residents are reminded that the Government will be testing its new Emergency Alerts system at 3pm today (Sunday 23rd April).

Headington School Boathouse

Richard Couzens, the Bursar of Headington School, attended last Thursday’s Parish Council meeting to update the council on the progress of the boathouse being built on The Maddy.

Despite some problems, he is hopeful that the project will be completed by September.

Pendon Museum Pop-up Café

A pop-up café will be open at Pendon Museum on Wednesday 19th April from 9:30am to 12noon.

It is hoped that this will be a monthly event and if this first session is a success, the second will be on Wednesday 17th May at the same time.

The café is friendly to dog walkers, but they will need to have their refreshment outside with their dog(s). Continue reading

Extra Garden Waste Collection

Residents who are signed up for brown bin collections can put out twice as much garden waste on Friday 21st April.

South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) is giving those who are part of the paid-for service the opportunity to put out the equivalent of one extra bin’s worth of garden waste (around three large bin bags).

Are You Registered to Vote?

South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) has asked the Parish Council to remind residents, particularly those who have moved house or turned eighteen since last Summer, to check that they are registered to vote in the upcoming elections on 4th May.
