Super User Appointed

The village has a new Fix My Street Super User.  Andy Mortimer has volunteered to take on the role.

Fix My Street allows residents to report problems on the roads. Anything added to Fix My Street results in a council highways inspector visiting the site and assessing each problem to see if a repair is needed according to set criteria.  If it is, they then place an order for the work to be done. Changes to Car Parking Fees

South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) has announced that parking fees will increase in South Oxfordshire from 1st April this year.

Residents using car parks, run by SODC, in Didcot, Goring, Henley, Thame and Wallingford will see between 20p and 60p added to charges depending on how long they park.

Road to Clifton Hampden Closed 5th to 9th January

The area affected covers the Thames from Abingdon down to and including Little Wittenham.

Christmas Tree Recycling

As in previous years, South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) has arranged for Christmas trees to be collected from the grass verge next to the entrance to Bodkin’s Recreation Ground.

Leave trees there by 13th January – they will be collected on Saturday 14th January.

Abingdon Road Closure 12th to 19th January

The Oxfordshire County Council (OCC) Network Management team has advised the Parish Council that a section of the A415 Abingdon Road at Culham will be subject to a temporary closure from 12th January to 19th January 2023.

The closure will operate between 8pm and 6am on week nights only, and is to facilitate carriageway patching works. Continue reading
