South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) has issued an update on the £150 ‘rebate’ that the government is providing to help households in council tax bands A-D with their energy bills.
It is about to start making rebate payments to households that pay their council tax by direct debit and will be sending a letter to all those homes to advise them to keep an eye out for the £150 ‘rebate’ going directly into their bank account. Volunteers were busy along the roadside and river collecting rubbish in the village last Saturday. Organiser Clifford Bosley said: “Altogether we filled twenty-five sacks. Among items collected were what appeared to be a portable toilet, motorcar parts and a car tyre. Other items found along the main road were baby nappies and women’s sanitary products”.

The Parish Council has been advised by South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) of a new planning application within the village.
The application, at Lovegrove Barn, Fieldside, Long Wittenham, is for the construction of new detached car port and store.

Wittenham WI invites residents of all ages to a Coffee Morning at St Mary’s Church on Thursday 28th April from 10am to 12 noon.
Come along and meet new and old friends. There is no charge but donations are always welcome.
St Mary’s Church needs its annual Spring clean, and volunteers will be sweeping, washing, dusting and polishing our lovely 900 year old church on:
