Little Wittenham Road Closure – 1st to 4th March

The Network Management team at Oxfordshire County Council (OCC) has advised the Parish Council that a section of the Little Wittenham Road will be closed whilst a new water supply connection is installed.

The closure and will operate from 1st March 2022 up to and including 4th March 2022.

Cyclepath / Bridleway Closure Extension

The current closure of the cyclepath/bridleway which runs from the west end of the village to Moor Ditch for widening and surfacing was originally expected to last for four weeks from 10th January to 7th February.

The Parish Council has been advised by the Network Management team at Oxfordshire County Council that the closure will be extended to Friday 11th February to allow the works to be completed. Continue reading

Didcot Road Works Extended

The Parish Council has been advised by Vanderbilt Homes that, owing to some unforeseen problems, it will not be able to complete the works on Didcot Road as programmed by the end of this week.

The company’s Senior Site Manager, Jason King, said that it has approached Oxfordshire County Council for an extension of two weeks.  He asked to pass on the company’s sincerest apology for the inconvenience, and said that it is trying its best to get the works done as speedily as possible.  Residents are thanked for their patience and understanding.

Neighbourhood Plan Consultation

The consultation on the revised Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP) runs from Tuesday 25th January 2022 to Tuesday 8th March 2022.

The Plough Inn to Re-open

The Plough Inn will be re-opening on the 3rd February, a month earlier than originally planned.

The pub closed at the end of December because of poor trading, but with the government lockdown rules easing, the owner, Julie Carberry, has decided to re-open.  She said: “Now that the government is relaxing the rules, we are opening earlier in the hope that customers will have the confidence to return to the pub”.
