Winter Support for Residents

As Winter arrives and temperatures drop, Oxfordshire County Council has asked the Parish Council to remind residents that there is a range of support, tips, advice and grants, available.

The free, local and independent Better Housing Better Health service is there for those who may be finding it hard to keep their family warm and well.  For some residents it can offer a home visit to provide more tailored advice. Continue reading

Tools Stolen in Northfield Lane

A bag of power tools was stolen from a work van in Northfield Lane this morning.

Residents are advised to lock up sheds and vehicles.  If you see any suspicious activity, please report it to the police.

Lorry Driver Prosecuted

A resident has proved the value of reporting an overweight vehicle coming through the village.

Following a report and witness statement by the resident, Oxfordshire County Council (OCC) prosecuted the lorry driver involved who pleaded guilty to the offence. He was fined and had to pay costs: a total of about £350. Continue reading

The Parish Council has been asked to highlight the invaluable work and support that the Home Improvement Agency (HIA) provides.

Earth Trust is holding an artisan Christmas market on Saturday 9th December to showcase eco-friendly gift ideas and sustainable living.

Village Poppy Appeal

Almost £1,500 was collected in Long and Little Wittenham for this year’s annual Poppy Appeal for the Royal British Legion.  This doesn’t include the amount donated using the new QR code which we will hear about at a later date.
