Land Off Sires Hill Planning Appeal

The Public Inquiry into the appeal for planning application P24/S2764/O for the development of 200 new homes and other facilities on land at the top of Lady Grove will take place next week.

This appeal will be heard at a public inquiry to be held at The Great Hall, Cholsey, Wallingford, OX10 9GW starting on Tuesday 13th October 2026 at 10am, and will last for two days.  (This is the former Fairmile hospital site.)

South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) originally rejected the plans but have now decided NOT to defend their decision at the Public Inquiry.

Residents can attend the appeal hearing and may be allowed to speak at the discretion of the Inspector.

The Appeal Notification Letter is here.

  1. Stephen Brown says:

Dear Residents. The Parish Council is planning to attend the Appeal and push our previous objections to this development.

However as SODC are not defending their previous refusal the PC is also asking for financial contributions to the village should the Inspector give the go ahead.

    • Chris Hollebone says:

Unfortunately I cannot attend the hearing but I wish you the best of luck. I think the decision of SODC is appalling and not untypical of their recent lacklustre performance.
