Neptune Wood and surrounds – a community greenspace

Would you be interested in contributing your ideas on making Neptune Wood and its surrounds an even more appealing place for families, and for people walking dogs?

The Earth Trust owns Neptune Wood and the surrounding area.  Recent survey work suggests that the area is used predominantly by people walking dogs and the trust would like to encourage this – they know how important it is for you to have access to good quality, local greenspace for getting out with your dogs; but they also want to help keep the area attractive to local families.

Fullamoor Quarry Plans – Update

In response to a request by Oxfordshire County Council for more information, Hills Quarry Products have recently submitted revised plans for the sand and gravel quarry between Clifton Hampden and Culham.

The details of the plan can be seen on the OCC e-Planning System, and for the latest news about fighting the plan go to the BACHPORT website.

Didcot Garden Town – Draft Plans

Over the past few months, town and parish councillors, schools, businesses, landowners, partners and residents from Didcot and the surrounding villages have all given their thoughts on what the new Garden Town should include.

Draft plans have now been published on the Didcot Garden Town website www.didcotgardentown.org and South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse councils are urging everyone who lives, works and visits Didcot and the surrounding villages to comment on these initial proposals by Friday 24 February 2017.

Kler Planning Application Update

The deadline for comments on the latest amendments by Kler to their planning application for up to 36 houses on the field at the corner of Fieldside and the Didcot Road has been and gone.

The Parish Council’s letter to the planning officer in response to those amendments can be viewed here.  Comments by other interested parties can be viewed on the SODC Planning website:

It is expected that the earliest that the application will be considered by the SODC Planning Committee is 1st March 2017.

Oxfordshire Unitary Authority Proposals

You may have read about proposals to create one unitary authority in Oxfordshire to replace the current six councils – one county council, four district councils and one city council.

A website – One Oxfordshire – has been created by Oxfordshire County Council to provide information about the proposed changes and to allow residents, businesses and stakeholders to have a say before before any decision is made later in the year.

Southern Oxfordshire New Businesses Competition

Together with their partner council, Vale of the White Horse, South Oxfordshire District Council are sponsors of a new competition for businesses which are less than two years old.
