The Met Office has issued a weather warning for rain across southern England, including the whole of Oxfordshire, over the next few days.

The Parish Council has been advised that the road to Clifton Hampden is flooded. This is due to very heavy rain over the last week or two which has led to high river levels in Oxfordshire.
Motorists are advised not to attempt to drive through floodwater as they run the risk of becoming stranded.

As in previous years, South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) has arranged for Christmas trees to be collected from the grass verge next to the entrance to Bodkin’s Recreation Ground.
Leave trees there by Friday 12th January – they will be collected on Saturday 13th January.

Brown bin collections (garden waste) are suspended while crews concentrate on collecting the extra waste from Christmas.

The Parish Council has been advised by South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) of a new planning application within the village.
The application, at Paddock Land adjacent to Fieldside, Long Wittenham, is to demolish the existing agricultural outbuildings that are in disrepair and erect two new agricultural outbuildings as storage for agricultural machinery.

Long Wittenham Primary School will hold their annual Christingle Service on Friday 15th at 4pm at St Mary’s Church.
