Food Waste Action Week 2024

Oxfordshire County Council has asked the Parish Council to promote Food Waste Action Week which runs until 24th March.

In Oxfordshire, residents throw away 31,320 potatoes every day – that’s enough for everyone in Carterton to have a portion of chips!

Food Waste Action Week is a national campaign designed by WRAP (Waste & Resources Action Programme) to reduce the amount of food waste people produce by focussing on behaviours and types of food that lead to most waste.

This year’s campaign’s theme is “Choose what you’ll use” – promoting the benefits of buying loose fruit and veg.

More information can be found on WRAP’s website.
