Waste and Recycling Services Survey
South Oxfordshire District Council has launched a survey to find out what residents think about its waste and recycling services.
This includes household waste, recycling and food waste collections, bulky waste collections, street cleaning services, customer services and the council’s waste and recycling information.

Car Boot Sale
Following the success of last Saturday’s car boot sale, Long Wittenham Athletic Club (LWAC) will be holding another on Sunday 25th June at Bodkins Field.
Sellers setup from 9am; buyers arrive from 10am. £10 for a table/car and donations on entry for buyers.

Pendon Museum Pop-up Café
The pop-up café at Pendon Museum will be open again on Wednesday 14th June from 9:30am to 12noon.
This is a free drop-in event, with just a small charge for drinks and cake to cover the costs.
Please go along and support it if you can. The café is friendly to dog walkers, but they will need to have their refreshment outside with their dog(s). Continue reading

Emergency Plan Zone Co-ordinators
The Parish Council (PC) has been working on a plan for what needs to be done if there is an emergency in the village.
There are a variety of incidents that could cause the plan to be triggered, such as flooding, a long power outage, or a major traffic incident. You can view a copy of the Working Draft of the Emergency Plan here.

Planning Application
The Parish Council has been advised by South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) of a new planning application within the village.
The application, at 54 Saxons Heath, Long Wittenham, is for a single storey rear extension and front porch.

Village Map Updated
The Village Map which hangs outside the Village Hall has been updated. The 1.18 mtr x 0.84 mtr laminated map details street and property names to aid visitors and delivery companies, and has an index with grid references.
The map was last updated in 2020. The main amendment this time is the addition of Wessex Way. Thanks to all those residents who suggested other changes. Continue reading
