Safari Supper

Thanks to everyone who helped make last Saturday’s (6th September) Safari Supper a huge success.

Seventy-three villagers participated including lots of newcomers.  Nineteen hosts provided either a starter or main course, with desserts and coffee at Mallard Reach at the end of the evening.

New Waste Services Contact Number

South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) has asked the Parish Council to inform residents that there is now a new number for district council waste and recycling enquiries: 01235 422 123.

The previous number (03000 610 610) is being phased out and will be switched off soon.  The new number is already active, so residents should update their records and start using it right away. Continue reading

Parish Councillor Peter Rose

After twelve years service, Parish Councillor Peter Rose has decided to step down from the council.

Cllr Rose joined the council in September 2013.  He was the chairman of the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Committee and oversaw the completion of the plan in October 2017 and the revisions which culminated in the second version of the plan in September 2022.  He also played a Continue reading

Fever Vaccine Study

The Oxford Vaccine Group (OVG) have asked the Parish Council to promote its clinical trial to find a vaccine against typhoid and paratyphoid A fever.

The trial is called BiVISTA and is being conducted by OVG which is part of the Department of Paediatrics at the University of Oxford.  The group is looking to recruit healthy adults aged 18 to 55.  Participants will be reimbursed up to £4,585 for their Continue reading

Pendon Museum Pop-up Café

The pop-up café at Pendon Museum will be open again on Wednesday 10th September from 10am to 12:30pm.

This is a free drop-in event, with just a small charge for drinks and cake to cover the costs.  All donations from the cakes go to support a local group, so please go along and support it if you can.

Chris Neil and his family have announced that they will be retiring from running the Clifton Hampden Village Shop and Post Office, effective 21st October 2025.
