IF Oxford Science and Ideas Festival

The Parish Council has been asked to promote IF Oxford, the city’s science and ideas festival, which returns in October with a mix of 100 events across 25 venues and online for all ages.

Water Situation Report

Now that the Thames Water hosepipe ban has come into force, residents may be interested to know that the Environment Agency produces a monthly local report on rainfall, soil moisture deficit, river flows, groundwater levels and reservoir levels for the Thames area.

NHS 111 Online

Oxfordshire NHS has asked the Parish Council to promote “Visit NHS 111 Online’”.

GPs and the 111 call service across the region have recently been under pressure from increasing numbers of patients, and the NHS wants to promote the 111 online service and to make people aware they can collect medicine from their local pharmacy.  See the flyer below. Continue reading

Planning Application

The Parish Council has been advised by South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) of a new planning application within the village.

The application, at Challis Farm, High Street, Long Wittenham, is for the addition of solar photovoltaic panels to roof of rear barn.
