Don’t forget that the Big Picnic Lunch is this coming Sunday 30th June from 12.15pm to 4.30pm at Bodkins field. All residents from Long and Little Wittenham are invited, the weather forecast is looking good, and it is FREE.
This is part of the Big Lunch project begun ten years ago by The Eden Project to celebrate communities and the people who live in them.
Bring along a picnic lunch and join friends and neighbours for what should be a special event. The Roke and Benson Brass Band will be playing; there is Human Bingo; and find out about ‘Message in a Bottle’ (not just for finding on a beach!). A number of village organisations will also be represented.
The Pre-School will be running a cake stall, and liquid refreshments will be available from the Athletics Club so you might want to bring some beer money.
You might also like to bring a picnic rug, although there will be a large marquee with seating.
