The Long Wittenham Good Neighbours Group is entirely funded by the Parish Council and so there is no charge for coming along. This year, the group has been given even more financial support with a cash grant from the village’s County Councillor Lynda Atkins.
Lynda, who is also Oxfordshire County Chairman of the Royal British Legion, has volunteered to give a short presentation at this month’s meeting.
We all support the “Poppy Appeal” every November, but what happens for the rest of the year? Things you never knew about the Royal British Legion will reveal all. Lynda, who is a former RAF Officer, will talk about the work of this venerable institution.
All are welcome at the meeting next Thursday afternoon (14th February) from 2.30 until about 4.00pm; and there will be the usual plentiful supply of tea and coffee together with lots of cakes, some homemade.
