Pump Track Update

The Pump Track project at Acklings is well underway and the project team has provided this brief update, details of the next steps, and how you can donate and get involved if you would like to.

Funding update

Within twelve  hours of sending out a request for donations last Sunday, the target of £600 had been exceeded.  To date, the team has raised £935.  Thanks to all who have donated.

The team has so many ideas to enhance the Acklings play area that it has decided to continue to fundraise for them.  Additional funds raised will be used to purchase a bike rack, a bench and to extend the basketball area to allow for it to be used for other activities including skateboarding.  It is also hoping to install outdoor table tennis tables.

Build update

Last Sunday a small team of volunteers began to prepare the site for the delivery of soil and gravel that is due to arrive in the next week or so from Vanderbilt Homes.

The next step will be the build itself which it is anticipated will take place over two weekends; dates and details to follow.  There will be plenty of opportunities for residents to come along and get involved, whether to volunteer to help, provide refreshments for workers, or simply to pop along to find out more about what is being constructed.
