The parish council is playing its part in helping drive down costs in the straitened financial climate gripping every walk of life. The council has decided to freeze its spending for the new financial year starting in April. Councillors have agreed to set the precept at £16,153 the same figure as the current year. It works out at less than £50 per household per year.
Council chairman Tom Bowtell said: These are difficult financial times for councils, businesses and families and we decided to play our small part in helping to ease the pressure by holding down our spending.
