Bus Service Improvement Plan

Oxfordshire is aiming to encourage more passengers back on to the buses through closer working to improve services in the county.

Oxfordshire County Council’s (OCC) Cabinet, in its role as local transport authority, has agreed to establish an ‘enhanced partnership’ by April 2022 and has invited all of Oxfordshire’s local bus operators to participate in it.

Pump Track Update

The photographs below show the Pump Track at Acklings at the end of last weekend’s work, thanks to the efforts of a fantastic team of local volunteers.

The majority of the materials have been donated by Vanderbilt Homes, with funds raised being used to purchase the extra gravel required to finish the project.  PMS Oxford kindly loaned a digger and other equipment to help shift the 230 tonnes of soil and 19 tonnes of gravel. Continue reading

Rounders Tournament

Nine teams entered this year’s annual Rounders Tournament organised by Long Wittenham Athletics Club at Bodkins last Saturday.  The winners, by a close shave, were Robs Ringers from Didcot.  One of the other teams was a group of PE teachers who competed against some of their pupils.

Pump Track Update

Good progress was made on the Pump Track at Acklings yesterday (19th June).  What started as three huge piles of soil is now looking decidedly like a pump track, thanks to the team of volunteers.
