Neptune Wood

The Earth Trust will be temporarily closing the wildflower meadow, which is accessed from Neptune Wood, to the public from Monday 15th July 2019 for approximately four weeks.

Sires Hill Road Closure

The Parish Council has been informed by Oxfordshire County Council (OCC) Highways Department that Sires Hill will be closed for approximately five days from Monday 22nd July 2019.  This is to facilitate carriageway patching works.

Limited access will be maintained for emergency service vehicles and for frontages within the closed section of road, subject to the progress of the works. Continue reading

WittFest Draws The Crowds

Music lovers were treated to a feast at the annual WittFest organised by The Plough Inn last weekend.

More than a thousand people are estimated to have attended the festival which started on Friday evening, continued on Saturday and drew to a close on Sunday afternoon.  It ended with a grand finale featuring an 18-piece jazz group.

Temporary Footpath Closure

The Parish Council has been advised that a temporary footpath closure will apply to a section of Footpath 283/1, which runs from the Little Wittenham Road to Little Wittenham, whilst essential repairs to a fire damaged building are carried out.

Thanksgiving Service of Evensong

There will be a Thanksgiving Service of Evensong on Thursday 11th July at 7pm in St Mary’s Church with fizz and canapes from 6pm, to celebrate and give thanks for all the wonderful people who help keep our churches open and our services running: lockers and unlockers, flower arrangers, cleaners, music makers, coffee makers, financial backers, readers, intercessors, magazine producers and distributors, fundraisers and many, many more throughout the villages and further afield.
