The pop-up café at Pendon Museum will be open again tomorrow (Wednesday 13th March) from 10am to 12noon.
This is a free drop-in event, with just a small charge for drinks and cake to cover the costs. All donations from the cakes go to support a local group, so please go along and support it if you can.

The Parish Council has been advised by South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) of a new planning application within the environs of the village.
The application, at Rosehurst Farm, Long Wittenham, is to provide necessary, secure and adequate storage for agricultural machinery, seed, fertilizer etc, and produced crops of hay, haylage and silage. Continue reading

I took a bag full of tins etc down on Friday. I was told that each time the Food Bank is open (Tuesdays and Fridays 11am to 1pm) the food is distributed to between 40 and 70 people, so it is clearly fulfilling a need. Continue reading

Wittenham WI will be hosting a talk on the artist Eric Ravilious on Saturday 16th March starting at 3pm in the Village Hall, with specialist speaker Lizzy Rowe.
Eric was a painter, designer, illustrator and wood-engraver, but his work nearly fell into obscurity after his mysteriously tragic death whilst serving as a war artist in 1942.

South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) has set out plans to change the way its garden waste service is paid for in 2025.
The council has agreed the introduction of a permit scheme from April 2025 which will include subscribers receiving a sticker for their bins to identify them as fully paid-up garden waste customers.
