Thanks to everyone, including the youngsters, who turned out for the Village Litter Pick yesterday (Saturday 18th October) morning to help keep our village looking tidy.
Lots of rubbish was collected from all parts of the village (see below) and afterwards, the zealous pickers enjoyed delicious lemon drizzle cake with tea and coffee in the Village Hall. Continue reading
Movie fans will be pleased to hear that the Long Wittenham Film Club will restart after its Summer break on Friday 24th October in St Mary’s Church, at 2.30pm for a 3pm start.

A reminder that this year’s Village Apple Day will take place next Sunday (19th October), at the Sylva Wood Centre.
Take your boxes/bags of clean apples to the Wood Centre between 10am and noon for juicing. The bottled juice wil ready for collection from 1:3pm.

Come along to the Village Hall where you will be provided with Hi-Viz jackets, gloves, rubbish bags and a litter picking tool.

The Parish Council will hold its monthly meeting in the Village Hall at 7:30pm on Thursday 16th October.

Pendon Museum has announced that for the Village Bonfire Night on 1st November, the Museum will be staying open until 6pm (the usual opening times are 11am to 4pm).
The museum will be running family Bonfire Night Activities during the day. The car park will also be made available to local attendees for the event as it has done in previous years.
Theatre-goers might like to support village resident Howard Gossington as Atticus Praed in the touring production of Agatha Christie’s Death on the Nile, coming to the Royal Theatre, Bath on 21st to 25th October (and elsewhere).

On 26th September the Inspectors examining the Joint Local Plan wrote to South Oxfordshire and Vale of White Horse District Councils advising them to withdraw the plan from examination, citing a single technical matter, the Duty to Cooperate, specifically with Oxford City Council.
