The Parish Council has been advised by South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) of a new planning application within the village.

The application, at River Bank, off High Street Long Wittenham, is for the provision of a new crossover and access drive to serve River Bank.

NDP Referendum Result

We are pleased to announce the result of yesterday’s referendum on the revised Neighbourhood Development Plan (NDP).

The vote was overwhelmingly in favour, with 95.53% voting YES.

Referendum Day

The Village Hall will be open for voting from 7am until 10pm.

Heat Wave

Robert Felton writes …

In case anyone is interested in the heat wave, the thermometer in my “garden” (Stable Cottage, by the school) showed 36°C at around 1pm on Monday and 41°C on Tuesday.  Both figures in the shade.  Phew!

It’s a cheap unit, not a professional weather station, but a useful indicator. Continue reading
