Two petitions calling for a full road-width speed hump to be installed on Didcot Road before the junction with Saxons Heath will be discussed at the next Parish Council meeting on 14th October.
The petitions, which have been circulating in Saxons Heath and Westfield Road, will be presented by one of the main organisers, Donna Harrison, who lives in Saxons Heath.
The Parish Council has responded to the concerns in this letter.

Residents will be aware that the footpath at the end of Northfield Lane (Number 287/2/10) has been closed since May whilst essential earth works are carried out to facilitate Earth Trust’s wetland creation project.

South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) has announced that the temporary pause to the garden waste service is coming to an end with collections getting underway from 4th October.
The service was paused to ensure rubbish, recycling and food waste collections were not affected during the ongoing and well documented national shortage of HGV drivers. Emily Smout has set up “Second Hand Sundays”. On the last Sunday of every month, residents are encouraged to put out any unwanted, but usable items, for others to take. Any donations will be split between the Preschool and Primary School.
It is hoped that this will help the environment by giving unwanted items a new lease of life and reducing landfill. The first Second Hand Sunday will be on 31st October. Continue reading
The Parish Council has been advised by South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) of a new planning application within the village.
The application, at Moonfield House, 12B High Street, Long Wittenham, is for the removal of condition 7 (Obscure glazing) on application P18/S1557/HH – a new single storey rear extension, loft conversion, garage conversion and new outhouse building.

The Parish Council has been informed by South Oxfordshire District Council (SODC) that the appeal by Manor Oak Homes for its planning application to build one hundred and fifty houses on a plot of land to the east of the B4012 (Lady Grove) has been allowed.
