Fun Run Roundup

Despite clashing with several other sporting and local events, this year’s Fun Run held on Sunday 10th June was a great success, with a very good turn out of nearly one hundred finishers and over thirty helpers on the day.

Temporary Closure of Meadow at Neptune Wood

Some residents will have noticed that The Earth Trust have temporarily closed the wildflower meadow which is accessed from Neptune Wood.

Athletics Club Stalwart Steps Down

It’s all change at Long Wittenham Athletics Club.  Long serving president Bill Symonds has stepped down after fifteen years in the role and has been replaced by former chairman Derek Meadham.  His position has been taken over by Ian Burton.  Ron Carter continues as secretary and Steve Bolton remains social secretary.

Friends of St Mary’s AGM

The Friends of St Mary’s will be holding their Annual General Meeting in the church at 8pm on Wednesday 20th June.

The charity runs various events throughout the year to raise funds to provide those little extras for the church when normal Parochial Church Council funds are already stretched.  Its main project at present is the building of a much needed all-access toilet and kitchen to make the church a friendlier and more useful facility in the community.
