Many residents will be disappointed to hear that the planning application for the Housing Infrastructure Fund (HIF1) project to build a new road bridge over the Thames, amongst other infrastructure, was rejected by the Oxfordshire County Council planning committee on Tuesday.

The pop-up café at Pendon Museum will be open again on Thursday 27th July from 9:30am to 12noon.
This is a free drop-in event, with just a small charge for drinks and cake to cover the costs.

Long Wittenham Athletic Club will be hosting a Summer Bash on Bodkins Field on Saturday 29th and Sunday 30th July.
The gates will open at 12noon with free parking and free entry. There will be food and beer, with live music starting at 4pm.

Oxfordshire County Council (OCC) has announced that its household waste and recycling centres will be open for longer on Thursdays during the Summer.
They will be open on Thursdays until 8pm until 28th September.

A new round of funding from the Councillor Community Grant scheme has launched in South Oxfordshire to help local charities and organisations across the district.
As part of the scheme, every district councillor in South Oxfordshire has funding to support local projects that directly benefit local residents. Organisations can now apply for grants from £250 up to a maximum of £5,000. Continue reading

Plots are available off the eastern end of Fieldside and at the western end of High Street opposite Three Poplars Park. Those off the High Street are very overgrown, but the Parish Council would be prepared to have them cleared if anyone is interested.
